These are examples of messages we often come across everyday and we often tend to ignore them if you know that you have completed your obligation for which these messages are the reminder. If you made a payment to an outstanding loan installment and you got a confirmation in email or text message, you should never be questioned again for the same installment again. However, in a real world scenario, that still continues to happen. Ever wondered why that happens?

These situations continue to happen to us because organizations are not focused on completing a full circle. Not understanding what I saying? Let’s try from a different perspective.

Imagine being told to draw a circle. At first you will draw something which looks closer to a circle. If you are asked to draw again, you will make a little better circle. If asked to draw circles over and over again, you eventually reach a point where you are able to draw a perfect circle without any errors. What you just did here is what is known as process improvement.

Process Improvement, Process Excellence & Process Engineering are synonymous jargons used by businesses to create processes which ensure business operations function smoothly and departments work the way they are expected to work. There are numerous disciplines in this field and experts in certain disciplines of process improvement which are often called upon when there have been a flow in the business processes which resulted in a blunder of epic proportions and almost cost the business its life (Think WellsFargo fiasco as the most recent example on a global scale).

In a world being absorbed by internet of things, cloud connectivity and globalization, there is no better time for organizations to focus on developing and maintaining processes which form a complete & perfect circle of operations. Gone are the days when you had to deal with multiple follow-ups from organizations just because they cannot get their act together and know that you have already made the payment or you have already received the call once and you wouldn’t like to be bothered.

Organizations who have adopted process improvement as a part of their culture are names behind some of the best brands of quality as well as exceptional customer service and satisfaction. So if you are a businessman with a booming business who is looking for the magic cure to your ill business operations and make it functions properly, you now know what needs to be done. Afterall, the only thing a businessman should be worrying about is how to grow his business. Not about other things like product delivery or accounts receivables.
